My dorm just got Rock Band Two a few weeks ago. The software/hardware bundle for the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 versions of the game came out on October 19th, 2008. If you are wondering, the game will come out for the Wii, I couldn’t tell you when. All of the sources that I have looked into report different days, but at least one thing is consistent– it should be coming out in December!
My dorm went crazy in anticipation and as soon as it was purchased, it was played non-stop through the whole night. When I went to crew practice at 7am, they were still playing. Granted that it was a Saturday night, but what else is there to do on a Saturday night!?
Along with such a great playlist of songs, Rock Band Two has its pros. First of all, people who own the original “Rock Band” game will be able to export most of the Rock Band disc tracks and upgrade them to the Rock Band 2 version! This is the first time ever people have been able to do that in videogame history! Also, it is the first and only music-based video game that features the music of AC/DC. Some other artists are Jimmy Eat World, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Modest Mouse, The Who, Billy Idol, and more!
Rock Band Two features the general set up of Rock Band One. The game has your typical Tour Challenges and World Tour. What’s really cool is that Rock Band Two now features “Battle of the Bands;” this is a system that allows you to challenge other bands from all around the world!
This game is a ton of fun. If you haven’t played Rock Band One or Two, you should really get on that. Seriously, grab a couple of friends, and start playing!
