Super Monkey Ball: Banana BlitzIn an earlier post, Super Monkey Ball 2, you found me boasting about how surprisingly fun I found Super Monkey Ball 2. For my birthday, my sister got Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz, a version of Monkey Ball specifically for the Wii, for me. I was extremely excited about this for two reasons: 1. I like Monkey Ball, and 2. Super Monkey Ball 2 has a main game that’s all about balance and precision, and when it is combined with the Wii I really expected a great game.

Luckily, I was not disappointed. I guess the producers really could not go wrong with the game. Like I said, the main game is about balance and precision, and applying that to the Wii rather than a joystick can only get better. The switch between the two was smooth, and I could not sense any specific problems. This game definitely seems more difficult to beat than its predecessor, but that has to do with practice.

Surpassing Monkey Ball 2, Banana Blitz actually has fifty mini games. All right, not all of them are top-notch, but there are definitely some great ones among the list. Along with the classics of Monkey Ball 2, my sisters and I have found some new favorites. In one of the games, you play a sheep-herding dog. All you have to do is direct the dog to what you think is an ideal location, then press A to start barking so the sheep will go into the barn. It sounds childish, and it is, but it is also very entertaining and can result in quite a few laughs!

If you have a Wii, Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz is worth the investment. It has a lot of games that will take ages to try, and I am positive that any family will be able to find their own separate favorites among them.
