Brain Age Researcher Decides to Forego Millions

Nintendo DS

The researcher behind the crazily popular Nintendo game, Brain Age (which has sold over 2 million copies for the DS), has decided that he doesn’t need the money.  Ryuta Kawashima, who is a researcher in human brain development at Tohoku University in Japan was eligible to receive around $11 million dollars in royalties.  Instead of taking the money, he donated the money to a construction project at his university.

The best quote from Dr. Kawashima on this topic is, “My hobby is work.  Everyone in my family is mad at me, but I tell them that if they want money, go out and earn it.”
