If every person in Chicago (~3 million people) signed up for WoW three times, it still would not equal the total population of subscribers that now participate in the greatest RPG of all time. Blizzard Entertainment, the guys that make WoW, announced that WoW subscriptions broke the 10 million mark!
And the best things are yet to come for WoW with its second expansion pack, Wrath of the Lich King, coming out later this year.
You need to get on, start slaying some dragons, and be part of the wave!

Console Games Are Hot!

For gamers, this is going to come as no surprise... video console games are hot! But some of the facts from 2007 are mind-numbing:

- Consoles, software, and accessories sales rose 43% in 2007
- 8.5 million Nintendo DS systems were sold
- 6.1 million Wiis were sold
- 3.97 million PS2 and 2.56 million PS3 were purchased in the U.S.
- Microsoft was able to move 4.62 million XBox 360s
- $8.64 billion was sold on console game software with "Halo3" being the biggest seller (selling 4.8 million copies)
- "Guitar Hero" had the biggest year ever for a new game franchise by selling $820 million dollars
